It is a genre of the orchidacea family, most of its species grows in shady, humid and cloudy forests and enjoy good ventilation. There are around 118 very striking species due to its resemblance to a monkey face. They are usually found at the base of trees covered with thick moss.
Greenhouse cultivation is greatly facilitated if we use moss as a growing medium and keep temperatures between 10 to 23 degrees celcius. They really enjoy having roots with constant humidity and plenty of shade.
